Each academic year, Sigma Chi hosts 3 separate, weekend-long events for our parents!
Held each fall during Bradley's parent's/family weekend, Sigma Chi hosts a casino night & social mixer for the parents of all brothers and pledges. During the social mixer, we ask parents to donate a themed gift basket to the chapter, to be used during our silent auction. All proceeds from the silent auction go towards the cost of the weekend, in addition to our chapter's brotherhood functions. The weekend concludes with a Q&A session for all pledge's parents, where they have a chance to sit down with the chapter's executive officers to address any questions and concerns that they may have.
Parents Weekend for 2018 will be held September 14-16. On Friday, September 14th, there will be a "Bags & Bonfire" on the front yard of the SIgma Chi chapter house from 6:00-9:00. Sigma Chi will be hosting a Casino Night on Saturday, starting at 7:00pm. There will be card games, a silent and 50/50 auction. This event is a great opportunity for parents to get to know the parents of other pledges, brothers, and understand what Sigma Chi stands for. The informational meeting for parents will be held Sunday morning.
Typically held in October, Mother's weekend is an annual weekend where the chapter plans special events for all brothers and their mothers. The weekend typically includes some type of potluck brunch, an afternoon recreational event, such as bowling, a cocktail mixer, and other social events!
Held each spring, Father's weekend is a chance to for all the fathers to visit the chapter house, in an informal social setting. Events vary from year to year but typically include a formal dinner, along with numerous social gatherings. The dates for Dad's Weekend 2019 is still TBD.
