Derby Days 2021
At this time, we are still in the process of planning Derby Days for the Spring Semester of 2021. We are taking into account factors regarding the State of Illinois' health & safety guidelines, CDC recommendations, Bradley University policy, Sigma Chi HQ regulations, and our own chapters concerns.
We hope to have more information and definitive answers as the semester and pandemic progress.

Derby Days 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the premature closure of Bradley University campus in March, we were unfortunately unable to host our annual Derby Days fundraiser. we are all very saddened by this, and have made plans to resume our annual activities in the Spring semester of 20201, assuming restrictions have lessened, and the pandemic is under control.
Derby Days 2019
|
2019 was the most successful Derby Days the Delta Rho chapter has ever hosted! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the participating sororities, our generous sponsors, and every brother of the chapter, we raised $12,950.00! More than we have ever raised.
We would like to thank the following sororities for their commitment to become the generation to end cancer: Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Kappa, Pi Beta Phi, Sigma Delta Tau, Kappa Delta, Alpha Chi Omega, Chi Omega, and The Gamma's. We would also like to congratulate our Derby Days champions, Sigma Kappa, for another amazing year of hard work. |
What is Derby Days?
Derby Days is Sigma Chi's annual fundraiser. The proceeds from our week are donated to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Our goal is to "be the generation that ends cancer", and Derby Days is our effort to do so. Each year, for a week, our chapter will hold multiple competitive events for each sorority to participate in. These events include penny wars, a hat chase, and a final dance competition. Derby Days was started in 1916 by the Alpha Beta chapter at the University of California Berkeley. Since its founding over 100 years ago, Derby Days has grown into an national philanthropic effort by all Sigma Chi chapters in a massive effort to raise funds in order to be the generation that ends cancer. In 2016, the Iota Psi chapter at Rutgers University, raised a record breaking $300,007, not only the most money ever raised by a Sigma Chi chapter for Derby Days, but by any greek life organization for a philanthropic event. |
